The Ficus panda has an attractive foliage of green and glossy oval leaves packed on the plant's branches. It is a popular outdoor landscaping choice due to its dense foliage and appealing look. It is also called Ficus microcarpa 'Panda and it belongs to the family of figs. The leaves have a leathery texture and grow one to two inches long.
In its natural habitat, the tree can grow up to 50 feet and can get aerial roots hanging through the tree. However, the plants in the In-home gardens and commercial spaces can be pruned to maintain a specific height and structure. The plant also gets small fig-like fruits called sarcopenia. The fruits turn yellow or orange as they mature and are edible but are not widely consumed.
